Last Chance U is a 2016 documentary series produced by Netflix showcasing the 2015 American football season for East Mississippi Community College. The series was released worldwide on July 29, 2016.[1] Netflix has renewed for a second season following the EMCC Lions, coach Buddy Stephens, and academic advisor Brittany Wagner.[2]

Production

The crew followed the EMCC Lions in 2015 as they attempted to win their third consecutive national championship, fourth in five seasons.[3] The crew is on-site for a brawl that ends the team's season and their chance at the championship.

Reception

The series was given a positive review by SB Nation's Jason Kirk who summed it up as a "carefully crafted drama with personalities to care about."[3]

True to his word, Roberts did not walk-on to Mississippi State.[4] However, after a quarterback transferred out of the team, Head Coach Dan Mullen approached Wyatt, who then walked-on to the team.[6]
