Rose  United Kingdom The sloop sprang a leak in the Moray Firth. She was beached in the early hours of 2 January near Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, where she was subsequently wrecked. All fourteen people on board were rescued by rocket apparatus.[2][3]

As the ship's owners declined to pay, she was subsequently taken to Key West, Florida and beached. James Mitchell became a total wreck there.[125]

A total of 41 of the 561 slaves on board were lost. She was on a voyage from Havana, Cuba to an African port.
HMS Nimble  Royal Navy The schooner ran aground on the Carysfort reef whilst trying to capture Guerrero (ship) ( Spain). She was refloated, repaired and returned to service.
