Highlandtown United Methodist Church

Highlandtown is an unincorporated community in Columbiana County, in the U.S. state of Ohio.[1]

History

Highlandtown was originally built up chiefly by settlers of Scottish ancestry.[2][3] The name Highlandtown is derived from the Scottish Highlands. The post office at Highlandtown was called Inverness, there being already another post office with the former name.[4] The Inverness post office was established in 1838, and remained in operation until 1902.[5]
