Shumway is an unincorporated community in Lassen County, California.^[1] It is located 14 miles (23 km) northwest of Karlo,^[2] at an elevation of 5079 feet (1548 m).^[1]

A post office operated at Shumway from 1887 to 1916.^[2] The name honors Susie Shumway, its first postmaster.^[2]
