Huntshaw is a village and civil parish located two and a half miles NNE of Great Torrington,[1] in the Torridge district, in the county of Devon, England. Huntshaw has a church called St. Mary Magdelene's Church[2] which is Grade II* Listed.[3] There is a mast in Huntshaw called Huntshaw Cross transmitting station. The name Huntshaw is thought to originate from Honey Wood.[4] Huntshaw was recorded in the Domesday Book as Huneseue.[5][6] In 2001 the population of the civil parish of Huntshaw was 120,[7] although it was 143 in 1901 and 212 in 1801, Huntshaw was in the Fremington Hundred.[8] Other features in Huntshaw include Huntshaw Barton[9] and Huntshaw Mill Bridge which is Grade II listed, although some of it is in Weare Giffard CP.[10]
