Naini Saini Airport also Known as Pithoragarh Airstrip is located in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, India. The airstrip was constructed in 1991 for administrative use and planned for the operations of Dornier 228 type aircraft. The State Government plans to upgrade it to Category 2C airport under Visual flight rules (VFR) conditions to facilitate operations of ATR-42 type of aircraft.[1] The project is estimated at ₹56 crores and the State Government has sought a special plan assistance (SPA) of ₹25 crores from the Central government.[2] The airstrip previously had chartered flights to Delhi by Deccan Aviation.[3] A 21-seater Air India flight will board passengers form Delhi and take 1 stop at the currently operational Pantnagar airport to take the passengers to the Naini Saini Airport. Kumaon sees a lot of tourist inflow during the tourist season and the start of the air service will help the tourist in reducing the number of days and also stay away from the mountainous roads of the state.

The State Administration has cleared all the NOCs required to initiate the flight services. The Civil Aviation Department has also given its nod to start the flight services by the end of this year. The flight service will be thrice in a week and afterwards it will be increased as per the tourist inflow and demand. The service arrangements will made to run throughout the year, if there is an increase in the use of flight service. The flight will also connect Dehradun. Renovation work has been completed for Naini Saini runway. Government also planned to provide paid facility to tourists for Himalayan sightseeing through a chopper.
