Loon Lake is a First Nations settlement within the Loon Lake 235 Indian reserve in northern Alberta, Canada. It is located on the eastern shore of the lake, west of Highway 88. It has an elevation of 525 metres (1,722 ft).

The settlement is located in census division No. 17 and in the federal riding of Fort McMurray-Athabasca. The settlement and the Indian reserve are part of the Loon River First Nation.

Demographics

Statistics Canada has not recently published a population for Loon Lake.

However, Industry Canada shows that Loon Lake's greater rural area had a total population of 399 living in 124 dwellings in 2001. With a land area of 3.4 km2 (1.3 sq mi), its greater rural area has a population density of 17.0/km2 (44/sq mi).[1]
