Usher is an American singer and actor. He signed with LaFace Records and released his self-titled debut album under the label in 1994. Usher rose to fame after the release of his second album, My Way in 1997. Usher earned Grammy nominations for "You Make Me Wanna" and "My Way" as Best Male R&B Vocal performance in 1998 and 1999. In 2001 he released his third studio 8701. Both "U Remind Me" and "U Don't Have to Call" from the album won Usher his first two Grammy Awards as Best Male R&B Vocal Performance in 2002 and 2003. Usher released his fourth album Confessions in 2004. Usher collected 11 Billboard Music Awards, 4 American Music Awards and 4 Teen Choice Awards at the 2004 ceremonies. In 2005 Usher received 8 Grammy nominations, winning three for Best Contemporary R&B Album, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, and Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. Usher also received 5 Soul Train Awards that year. In 2008, he released Here I Stand. In 2010, he released Raymond v. Raymond was released, winning a Grammy as Best Contemporary R&B Album, while "There Goes My Baby" also won Best Male R&B Vocal Performance in 2011. In 2012, Looking 4 Myself was released, with "Climax" winning a Grammy award as Best R&B Performance in 2013.

Usher's accolades include 8 Grammy awards, 18 Billboard Music Awards, 9 Soul Train Music Awards, 8 American Music Awards, 7 Teen Choice Awards, 4 BET Awards, 3 NAACP Image Awards and more. For his contributions to music, Usher has received a Musical Arts Award at The BET Honors, a Golden Note award at the ASCAP Awards, and inductions into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame and Hollywood Walk of Fame. Outside of music, Usher has further received accolades such as the Freedom Award for his charitable efforts, and an NBA Championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers via part ownership.
