Y Pant School (Welsh: Ysgol Y Pant) is an English medium 11–18 mixed comprehensive school in the village of Pontyclun near Llantrisant, maintained by the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, serving the areas of Pontyclun, Talbot Green, Llantrisant and Llanharry, in Wales.[1]

Since the original school being built there have been two main buildings added, the sports hall and the "new block", built in 2006. The school was given best state school in Wales 2003 by a leading newspaper. The school has also produced above (average) grade results.

In October 2011 Y Pant School was inspected under the new ESTYN frame work and was judged to be an 'Excellent' school in terms of its current performance, prospects for improvement, standards, pupil outcomes, teaching and leadership.[2]

Since 2006, the school has seen a number of new buildings added: the new changing rooms and several new portacabin classrooms. And now quite recently it has been announced that they will be adding another building that cost roughly 24 million pounds to build.
