It forms a city municipal corporation council electoral constituency and is a part of Rashbehari (Vidhan Sabha constituency).[1]

The boundaries of the ward are: The Budge Budge branch line of Eastern Railway and Tollygunge Circular Road are in the north. Dr. Duadar Rahman Road and Charu Chandra Place East are in the east. Prince Anwar Shah Road is in the south. Deshapran Sashmal Road and Tolly’s Nulla (Adi Ganga) are in the west.[2]
