EMA 1998

The Slovene Final was held at the RTVSLO TV Studios in Ljubljana, hosted by Mojca Mavec. The winner was chosen by televoting.

The Winner

Vili Resnik previously came equal 10th in the 1990 Yugoslav Final as lead singer of 'Pop Design', 5th in the 1996 Slovene Final and 6th in 1997. At the ESC he came 18th, where one of his backing singers was Karmen Stavec who would go on to represent Slovenia in ESC 2003. His pianist was Urša Vlasic who came 13th in the 1988 Yugoslav Final and equal 15th in 1990 (as Urša Drinovec). Darja Svajger represented Slovenia in 1995, while Regina did the same in 1996. Miran Rudan was a backing singer for Italy in the 1990 ESC.
