Geography

The village lies on the right bank of the Othain, which forms all of the commune's western border.

It was rumored that in the 1940s German occupation Vichy French premiere Philippe Pétain would frequent a brothel in the town named "The Pink Rose", and his favorite prostitute was named "Amazon".
