Moore Town is a settlement in Jamaica. Located in Portland Parish, it has a population of 1,106 as of 2009.[1]

Moore Town was included in 2008 in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists for its Maroon heritage. Maroon descendants of slaves who escaped to the mountains during the 18th century have maintained numerous African traditions, some creolized from their Asante and Kore ancestors. They developed Kromanti Play from these traditions.[2]
