Montirictus is a tritylodont synapsid known from the Early Cretaceous Kuwajima Formation of Japan. It is currently the latest surviving tritylodontid species, and is closely relates to the earlier Xenocretosuchus from mainland Asia, and the Jurassic Stereognathus from the UK.[1]
