Big Bang concert chronology

Made V.I.P Tour is the first Chinese fan meeting tour by South Korean boy band Big Bang, in support of their last albums released, M, A, D and E.[1] The tour gather over 500,000 people in Mainland China alone, breaking Big Bang's own record for Most Attended Tour by a Foreign Language Act of All Time in China. Their event in Luoyang, China that gathered over 45,000 people renews their previous record for Largest Audience Drew by a Foreign Language Act of All Time in China. [2]

Background

The first dates were announced in February 6, visiting Shanghai, Shenzhen, Zhengzhou, Hangzhou, Hefei, Changsha, Nanchang and Nanjing.[3] In May 2016, the second leg was announced with addition of eight other cities. Starting with Shenyang, Foshan, Nanning, Qingdao, Dalian, Chongqing and Chengdu.[4] For the end of May, six shows were announced in Hong Kong and Taiwan.[5] The tickets for Taiwan were opened for sale in July 9, the sites system experienced a heavy traffic which caused an immediate crash, the selling was postponed to another date.[6] On June 2, it was announced that the show in Shenyang would be postponed indefinitely.[7] Additional show in Jinan was added later, while two shows Dalian were cancelled,[8] later in June 21, they reschedule the 26th show by changing the time of concerts and the venue to Damai Center.[9]

In June 12, two shows announced in Guangzhou in July 7 & 8. There were no news about the show was scheduled before in July 7 at Jinan. In June 16 the concerts in Qingdao was cancelled, a few days before the concert, due to unavoidable local issue.[10][11] In June 20, a third show is added in Guangzhou, after the two concerts were sold-out.[12]

In June 16, the Hong Kong tickets were out for sale, all the tickets for three shows were sold out in less than an hour, due to the overwhelming response, a fourth show was add on July 24 at 2.30 PM.[13][14] In the end of June, a third show was added in Chongqing also in Beijing, and a new show in Luoyang.[15]

In July 7, it was announced that the tour will visit Macau, with two shows in CotaiArena.[16] In August 12, YG announced that the fan meeting will expand to Honolulu, Hawaii.[17] On August 29 & 30, YG announced that Malaysia and Singapore was added to the list of the countries that the tour will visit, with the date October 1st and 2nd.[18][19]

The two shows in Thailand were cancelled on October 13 in respect of King Bhumibol Adulyadej's passing.[20]

The promoters of the tour announced that T.O.P will not be able to attend the concerts in Taiwan, Malaysia & Singapore, due to other schedule.[21]
