Pre-Debut

Before debuting with Prizmmy☆ she started off as a model for a Japanese brand, Roni. She was in the 2nd generation and also in the 3rd generation. Her sister and fellow group members including Mia Kusakabe, Reina Kubo and Hina Miyazaki were also models for this brand. She is also well known for playing piano.

Personal Life

Karin has a younger sister who is also a dancer, model, singer and pianist. Mirei was also a Roni Girl and is a current member of Prism Mates, Prizmmy's sister group.

Their previous blogs were named "Kajitsu Shimai" (果実姉妹) Meaning "Karin and Mirei Sisters". "Kajitsu" (果実) can also mean fruit.

Karin has "果" in her name while Mirei has "実" in her name. They both share the kanji ”鈴”, which is common in Japanese families to have siblings with the same kanji.

Career

Prizmmy☆: (2012-Present)

Karin debuted as a member of Prizmmy☆ in 2012 with the song "Everybody's Gonna Be Happy" [2] which is also the 4th ending of the anime television series Pretty Rhythm: Aurora Dream. She hosted the show along with Mia Kusakabe and Reina Kubo. Ayami Sema joined them later.

On her debut stage she unfortunately had hay fever and had to cover her right eye with an eye patch. This experience she claims to be "scary" as she couldn't see the floor as she danced.

She auditioned to be a member of the "original Prism Mates" until Ayami joined changing the name to "Prizmmy". Where in the anime Jun says that Prizmmy stands for "Prism With Me".

Her anime character in the anime series Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future is also named Karin but the surname is "Shijimi" (志々美) not "Takahashi" (高橋).

She has released a total of 12 singles as a Prizmmy☆ member to date. In 2013, Karin had her solo song "Tear Smile" released along with Prizmmy☆'s first album Take Off!! [3]

In Prizmmy her catchphrase is "When in a pinch smile, if you get the chance smile! Smile Forever!" (ピンチも笑顔、チャンスも笑顔!スマイルフォーエバー!)

To celebrate 10,000 followers on Twitter, Karin and fellow member Hina form a sub-unit (HinaRin Twins Dance), where Pri Crew ask them to perform a song and they will choose one to dance to.
