The 19th Annual Panasonic Gobel Awards honoring the favorite in Indonesian television programming/production work/individual, was held on October 14, 2016, at the XXI Ballroom, Jakarta Theater in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta. This year edition of ceremonies awards was themed for Kebanggaan Indonesia (Indonesian Pride)^[1] and broadcast live on RCTI, MNCTV and MNC Channel. Global TV will re-aired to this show on October 15. Omesh, Ayu Dewi and Irfan Hakim have been hosting for this year edition of ceremony awards.

The Panasonic Gobel introduce one new category "Best Personality Television" which based on selection of jury^[2] and presenting to the 22 categories for television program and individuals.^[3] This year of edition reducing five categories to the 27 awards previously presented at the 18th Annual Panasonic Gobel Awards. In June 2016, it was announced that the award would be moved to October because the broadcaster RCTI could not broadcast the award at the same time as the UEFA Euro 2016 and the Eid al-Fitr.

Voting system

The election system starts with the determination of nominations per each category by a verification team from Indonesian television beings composed of nine representatives of the television industry, such as broadcasters, production houses, the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI), actress/actor and others. The determination is based on ratings the highest show and determination through a poll via telephone.

Panasonic Gobel has opened polls to the public on August 2016 until September 2016, which can then be sorted by BDO, an tabulator for this edition of awards ceremonies, to get poll data is valid, is 1 ID to 1 vote. Polls can be done through one mediums: SMS (99386).
