This is a Chinese name; the family name is Yuan.

Yuan Yin was a minister who lived during the late Han Dynasty of China. He was a cousin of the warlord Yuan Shu. After the death of Yuan Shu, he then tried to guard his lord's coffin, wife, and child on the way to Lujiang. However, Yuan Yin ended up being captured and killed. At this result, the Imperial Seal of China then fell into the hands of Cao Cao.
