Watari Station (亘理駅 Watari-eki) is a railway station operated by JR East in Watari, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan.

History

Watari Station opened on November 10, 1897. The station was absorbed into the JR East network upon the privatization of the Japanese National Railways (JNR) on April 1, 1987. Following severe damage in the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami operation on the Joban Line between Hamayoshida Station and Soma Station are currently suspended, and are not expected to resume until after 2017.[1]
