Wasteland 3 is an upcoming role-playing video game developed by inXile Entertainment. It is a sequel to Wasteland 2 (2014).

Gameplay

Wasteland 3 is a squad-based role-playing video game featuring turn-based combat.[1] The game features synchronous and asynchronous multiplayer.[2]

Plot

Wasteland 3 is set in a post-apocalyptic Colorado.[2] The player takes control of the last surviving member of Team November, a Ranger Squad.[2]

Development

Wasteland 3 was announced by inXile Entertainment in September 2016.[2] As with Wasteland 2, inXile chose to crowdfund the development of the game.[2] However, rather than crowdfunding the game through Kickstarter like their previous projects, the studio opted to use Fig.[2] The crowdfunding campaign launched on October 5, 2016.[2]

Wasteland 3 is being developed using the Unity game engine.[3] The development is composed of people who worked on Torment: Tides of Numenera (2017).[3]

The game is scheduled to launch on Linux, macOS, PlayStation 4, Windows and Xbox One in 2019.[2][4]
