WRCR (1700 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station broadcasting an Adult Contemporary format with weekday News-Talk shows. WRCR is licensed to Ramapo, New York and serves Rockland County. The station is owned by Alexander Broadcasting, Inc.[1][2]

The station airs a local talk show in the morning and carries nationally syndicated progressive talk radio shows from Stephanie Miller and Thom Hartmann in middays. WRCR airs hourly newscasts from ABC News Radio. The studios and offices had been located on the upper level of the Nanuet Mall. After the Mall closed the station moved to Palisades Credit Union Park. WRCR broadcasts an adult contemporary music format at night. Brokered programming, sold to local businesses and community organizations, is heard late mornings, late afternoons and weekends.

WRCR is the only radio station providing news and information specifically for Rockland County. WRKL 910 AM in nearby Pomona, New York, switched to an all-Polish format on March 18, 1999.

On July 13, 2015, WRCR moved from 1300 to 1700 kHz in the AM expanded band, increasing its power from 500 watts to 10,000 watts by day and 1000 watts at night. The higher power allows the station to be heard over a wider area of the lower Hudson Valley and Northern New Jersey. The station also switched its City of license to Ramapo from Spring Valley, New York, both communities in Rockland County.

WRCR airs games from the Rockland Boulders, a professional Minor League Baseball team based in Pomona, New York and member of the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball, also known as the Can-Am League.

WRCR were the call letters of a college carrier current radio station at Rockford College in Rockford, IL operating from 1962 until 1994.[3]
