Vishnu Pandya (Gujarati વિષ્ણુ પંડયા, Hindi विष्णु पंड्या) is a journalist, biographer, poet, novelist, writer, political analyst and historian from Gujarat, India.[1] Pandya writes articles on politics, history and historical places which are carried by several Gujarati newspapers and magazines, is among the most widely read columns in the State.[2][3][4][5] He is active in journalism field from last 40 years. Along with regular column writing in Gujarati daily, Pandya is also serving as General Secretary of vishwa Gujarati Samaj.[6]

Early life

He was born in Manavadar a navabi state, District Junagadh, Saurastra. He was educated at Bahauddin College, Junagadh. His father was working in South Africa but returned to India after second world war. He was serving as District officer – Education in Manavadar.

Career

Pandya began his career with Sadhana Weekly, later became editor of that magazine at the age of 22.[7][8] Honored from All Indian Newspapers Editor for protest on Censorship during Indian Emergency. He successfully manage to publish the magazine and write against forced censorship and used liberally his freedom of speech and expression.
