Introduction

Vaishali वैशाली is an elevated metro station located on the branch line of the Blue Line of the Delhi Metro in Trans Hindon area of Ghaziabad. It serves the Ghaziabad suburbs of Vaishali, Vasundhara, Indirapuram, Khora and other nearby neighborhoods and areas. Vaishali is amongst the most crowded stations on the Blue Line and the Delhi Metro.

History

The suburbs of Vaishali, Kaushambi, Vasundhara and Indirapuram located in Ghaziabad have all experienced exponential growth in the last decade. Many residents of these locales have office in Delhi and commute on a daily basis. Due to transportation restrictions and permit prohibitions between the NCR and Uttar Pradesh, buses and auto-rickshaws are not allowed to transit from the latter to the former or vice versa. Such restrictions necessitated Metro connectivity for the western outskirts of Ghaziabad.
