• Edmund C. Buckley, Register of Deeds of Southern Middlesex County.
• Foster Furcolo, Governor of Massachusetts since 1957. Former Treasurer and Receiver-General of Massachusetts (1952–1955) and Member of the United States House of Representatives from Massachusetts's 2nd congressional district (1949–1952).

Republican

• Leverett Saltonstall - United States Senator since 1945. Governor of Massachusetts from 1939-1945.

Socialist Workers

• Lawrence Gilfedder - Candidate for Lt. Governor in 1948. Ran for Governor in 1952 and 1954. Ran for Senate in 1958, 1960, 1962, 1964, 1966, and 1970. ^[1]
