Tulsipur is a town and municipality in Dang District in the Rapti Zone lies in Mid Western Development Region of Nepal. It is second largest municipality after Ghorahi. The 2011 Nepal census counted 51,537 persons in 12,214 households. Tulsipur Airport is about two km South of the town center. Paved roads go north into Salyan District, south to the Mahendra Highway in Deukhuri Valley and east to Ghorahi and west to Purandhara. Dang district especially dang valley is considered to be the best climate for human settlement as the ruins of human ancestors (Ramapithecus) were found here. The Tharu civilization of sukaurakot (top at on the northern bank of Babai River) is one the oldest human civilization. This civilization was further extended to the eastern part of the country with the migration of the people of this community towards the east.

Media

To promote local culture Tulsipur has currently four FM radio stations. Radio Prakriti 93.4 MHz which is the first environment friendly community radio station, Radio Hamro Pahuncha - 89 MHz Which is a Community radio Station, Radio Tulsipur - 100.2 MHz which is a private radio station and Radio Sanjhibani-91.0. In addition there are also two local TV station STV and STN channels which broadcasts local events and news. Along with these, many daily and weekly local newspapers have been publishing. Some newspapers which are publishing from Tulsipur are Gorakshya daily, Rapti Aawaj daily, Tharkot weekly, etc.

Education

The facilities of education is good as it is zonal headquarter of Rapti zone. And so students from the himalayan and hilly region of Mid Western Development Region also come here to study. Rapti Babai Multiple Campus is providing educational facilities up to master's degree. Novex International College has been providing qualitative education in bachelor's degree in Education and Business Studies. Private schools and colleges like Gorkha Higher Secondary School, Shanti Deep English School, Tulsi Boarding Higher Secondary School, Rapti Vidya Mandir, Great Araniko Higher Secondary School, Himal Academy, Galaxy English School and many other are the facilitators of education here. Some of the private schools and colleges provide the facilities of hostel for students from far away. Among the High Schools Tulsi Boarding Higher Secondary School has the best results in SLC and in +2 and it is very often given the prize of best School in Mid-Western development region by the Government.

In Tulsipur, Mid Western International College of Hospitality Management is importing technical education as well as academic knowledge of international standard in the field of professional and technical education. MWICHM is associated with national and international hotels, restaurants and service industries throughout the world.

Transportation

The major source of transportation here are buses and jeeps. Nowadays electric auto rikshaw are also running as local transportation in Tulsipur Dang Area. For the transportation of goods in villages tractors are rampantly used though trucks are used in the major highways.

Health

In Tulsipur, there is zonal level hospital named Rapti Zonal Hospital & there are a lot of other hospitals which provides health services to public and they are yet to be improved as many people don't rely on these hospitals and health centers, One of the good news about this is only one fake doctor was held in Tulsipur while many fake doctors were held in other parts of country in "Quack" operation done by the police throughout the nation.

Security

Zonal Police Office Rapti & Area Police Office Tulsipur are the Police Offices which are providing security to the public. The security is quite very good though some very small gangs with criminal motives exist. There is Traffic Police Office also.
