The Park School (Yeovil) is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school, in Yeovil, Somerset, England. It has 250 students from kindergarten to sixth form and is the only independent school in Yeovil.[1] It has separate Junior, Senior and Sixth Form departments and is located close to the town centre.

The head is Jane Huntington, who was appointed in 2011 following Paul Bate's retirement.

History

The school was founded in 1851 by Mrs Bennet, who was headmistress from 1851 to 1919. It was originally an all-girls school, before becoming a co-educational school in 1991.

School format

The school is independent, co-educational with a Christian foundation. Originally founded as an evangelical Christian foundation, it is now a registered charity. The school has around 28 boarders living within the school during term time. They are a mixture of British and Overseas students. There are approximately 222 day students .

School houses

Students and staff (apart from P.E teachers, and headteachers) are placed into one of four school houses. Families are always put into the same house. The houses are: (house colour in brackets)
