The Goddess Bunny is a 1994 American documentary directed by Nick Bougas, which is about the life of a hermaphrodite named Johnnie Baima (also known as the Goddess Bunny or Sandie Crisp).[2]

Overview

The film depicts a tour of the Los Angeles, California underground transgender, lesbian, and gay nightclub scene, as hosted by the Goddess Bunny, a disabled, tap dancing artist. The film also explores the life of Baima, mainly focusing on her transition into a woman, as well as her battle with polio as a child.

Controversy

The film became a subject of controversy when a portion of the documentary's main subject, the Goddess Bunny, tap dancing, was released in a video online. The video, entitled "Obey the Walrus"[3] subsequently went viral.[4]
