StreetMekka

StreetMekka is a 2,200 square metre indoor venue for street sports and street culture in the Kongens Enghave district of Copenhagen, Denmark. The activities include Street basket, parkour, dans, soccer, street art and DJ'ing. It is situated at Enghavevej 82B, adjacent to Copenhagen Skatepark.

Operation

StreetMekka opened on 16 October 2010 in a former factory. It is operated by the non-profit organization GAM3 and funded by Copenhagen Municipality in collaboration with locale- og anlægsfonden.[1] StreetMekka received a Special Prize from the International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities in 2013.[2]

Activities

It is possible to practive independently or to take part in the more than 30 open weekly sessions. Courses in DJ'ing and street art start several times a year. StreetMekka is open all year 24-7. It is open for members from 14:0009:00 to members and from 09:0014:00 on booking through the website.[3]

There is Friday Jam on the first Friday every month with Street basket and Street soccer tournaments, Parkour Jams, hiphop dance battles and shows as well as freestyle rap battle.[1]
