Senegalia (from Senegal and Acacia senegal (L.) Willd.)[7] is a genus of flowering plants in the legume family, Fabaceae. It belongs to the subfamily Mimosoideae. Until 2005, its species were considered members of Acacia.[1][2] The genus is still considered polyphyletic and will require further division.[2][8]
