Ryan McGarry (physician)

Ryan McGarry is an American, Chicago-born and Irvine-raised [1] cinematographer and Emergency physician who directed the documentary Code Black.[2][3] Code Black is the basis for the TV series Code Black.

Education and training

He studied at the Pennsylvania State University where he obtained a B.A. with a major in English[4] in 2005, then he attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine that he finished in 2009.[5] As a med student at the University of Pittsburgh, McGarry participated in a four-week emergency medicine clerkship[6] and research rotation at LA County/USC Medical Center.[7][8] He did his residency in Emergency Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.[9]

Career

He worked from 2013 to 2015 as Instructor in Medicine at Joan and Sanford I. Weill Department of Medicine of the Weill Cornell Medical College. From 2015 he works as Clinical Instructor in Medicine at Joan and Sanford I. Weill Department of Medicine of Weill Cornell Medical College.[10]
