Ontario Rugby Union

The Ontario Rugby Union (ORU) also known as Rugby Ontario[1] is the provincial governing body for the sport of rugby union in the Canadian province of Ontario. At the highest level, the men's teams compete for the McCormick Cup, while the women's teams compete for the OWL Cup.

The Ontario Rugby Union has provided the following High Performance players to the current Rugby Canada National Men's Team: Ray Barkwill; Doug Wooldridge; John Moonlight; Seb Pearson; Jamie Mackenzie; Liam Underwood; Jordan Wilson-Ross; Matt Tierney; Paul Ciulini; Aaron Carpenter; Taylor Paris; Liam Underwood; Jamie Mackenzie; Andrew Ferguson; Alistair Clark; Tom Dolezel; Eric Howard

The Ontario Rugby Union has provided the following High Performance players to the current Rugby Canada National Women's Team: Laura Russell; Tyson Beukeboom; Jacey Grusnick (formerly Murphy); Kelly Russell*; Emily Belchos; Brittany Benn*; Hannah Darling*; Ghislaine Landry*; Charity Williams

There are ten men's competitions which are sanctioned by the ORU. The Marshall Premiership and Championship are contested by the best teams from the Toronto Rugby Union and the Niagara Rugby Union, and feature promotion and relegation. The lower leagues are run by the branch unions. The winners of the TRU and NRU compete in the Intermediate Cup against the lowest placed team in the Marshall Championship to determine who will play in the Championship the following year.
