Canada take on Wales during the 2007 World Cup

The Canada national rugby union team has played in every Rugby World Cup since the inaugural tournament in 1987. Their best performance was in 1991, when they beat Fiji and Romania, qualifying for the quarter-finals, where they lost to New Zealand.

Canada has the strongest national rugby side in North America, and the second strongest in the Americas after Argentina.

Hosting

So far Canada has not hosted any World Cup games, and no World Cups have been held in the Americas. Canada however may join the United States in a joint bid to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup.[1]
