Muğla Museum is a museum in Muğla, Turkey. It is a general purpose museum combining natural history, arcaeology and ethnography .

The museum is on Müştak Bey street at 37°13′02″N 28°22′05″E / 37.21722°N 28.36806°E / 37.21722; 28.36806 [1] The building was the former prison of Muğla city. It was restored and opened as a museum in 1994. [2]

In one section the fossils of animals lived 5-9 million years ago (i.e.,Turolian period) from Kaklıcatepe, a hill close to Muğla, are exhibited. The second section of the museum is the archaeology section. In this section the finds in Stratonicea excavations are exhibited. There is also a skeleton of a gladiator. [3]In ethnography section clothes and everyday tools from Muğla area are exhibited. [2]There are 5460 items in the museum.[1]
