Meher Afroz Shaon (born October 12, 1981[1]) is a Bangladeshi actress, director and playback singer. She was the 2nd wife of writer and director Humayun Ahmed.[2]

Early life

Shaon was born to her parents Mohammad Ali and Tahura Ali.[3] Mohammad Ali is an Engineer and Tahura Ali was a member of parliament from Constituency 319 of the 9th Bangladesh Parliament.[4] Shaon studied at Viqarunnisa Noon School and College. After passing HSC she joined University of Asia Pacific and received Bachelor of Architecture degree.

Career

Shaon started her career through acting in drama serial titled Aaj Robibar in 1999. She then acted in Srabon Megher Din directed by Humayun Ahmed in the same year.

Personal life

Shaon was married to Humayun Ahmed since 2005 to until his death in 2012.[3] She has two sons - Nishad Ahmed and Ninit Ahmed.[5]
