Shila Ahmed (born 9 September 1982), is a Bangladeshi actress. Shila is notable for her role in TV dramas such as Kothao Keu Nei and Aaj Robibar[1] and movies such as Aguner Poroshmoni.[2] She received the best child artist award in Bangladesh for her role in Aguner Poroshmoni.[3]

Early Life and Education

Shila Ahmed was born in 9th September 1982 to Humayun Ahmed and Gultekin Khan at Fuller Road, Dhaka University residential area, Dhaka. She started her schooling at University Laboratory School. Later she joined Holy Cross Girl's High School. Then she enrolled University of Dhaka. She Received BA(Hon's) and MA in Economics from the university. Later she perused her study in USA.

Career

Ahmed was involved in acting in TV from childhood. As a child artist, her tremendous work was in Kothao Keu Nei. But she got the fame, when she played the role as Konka in Aaj Robibar, directed by Monir Hossain Jibon. She also got spotlight when she played role in Nokkhotrer Raat. Her most applauded work is the freedom fighting movie Aguner Poroshmoni.

Personal life

Ahmed is the daughter of novelist Humayun Ahmed and Gultekin Khan.[4][5] She is married to Asif Nazrul, a professor of Department of Law at University of Dhaka.[6]
