Matt Cardle concert chronology

The Intimate and Live tour was a 16 date concert tour by Matt Cardle cited as a "warm up" tour for his forthcoming album. It took place over the UK through June and July 2016, and ended in Sheffield on 27 July 2016. It his sixth UK tour. A live album recorded on the tour will be released exclusively through his website on 18 November 2016.

Background

The tour was announced in full on 8 March 2016, initially with 15 dates. Two more, one in Scotland and one in Isle of Wight were added later. The Scotland date was later cancelled due to technical issues.[1] Cardle described it as a warm up tour for his fourth album, giving him a chance to showcase new material before finalising it in the studio, saying "Normally, you record an album, then take it on tour, but this is a chance for me to try out my new music, and develop it over the course of the tour, before I take it into the studio. It's new music that fans won't have heard before."[2]

It began on 7 June 2016 in London. Cardle played guitar and was backed by a live band. At the date in Guildford on 18 June he performed Bring Him Home from Les Misérables as a precursor to his performance at West End live the following day. Due to a positive reception to his rendition, he then added the song to the setlist for the remainder of the tour.
