Mary Jane Odell

Mary Jane Odell (née Neville) (July 28, 1923 December 16, 2010) was an American journalist and politician.

Born in Algona, Iowa, Odell graduated from Algona High School. She then received her bachelor's degree from University of Iowa in 1945. Odell hosted public affairs television and radio programs in Chicago, Illinois and Des Moines, Iowa. In 1980, Odell was appointed Iowa Secretary of State and then was elected to the office in 1982 serving until 1987. Odell was a Republican. She lived in Des Moines, Iowa.[1][2]
