Keira High School in Wollongong, New South Wales has existed as an institution under several names since 1917. Originally a collection of boys' technical schools on several sites throughout Wollongong, the school was amalgamated in 1954 at its current site in Lysaght Street North Wollongong.[1]

The school then became known as Keira Boys High School and remained as such until 1984.[1] Since that time the school has become co-educational and pioneered the integration of technology and design into the curriculum.

The KHS campus is in the heart of Wollongong's education district. It is bordered on the west by the TAFE-Illawarra Institute, on the east by Wollongong High School of the Performing Arts and is a three-minute walk from the University of Wollongong.

With an enrolment of approximately 1000 students across Year 7 to Year 12 and 65 teachers, Keira High School offers a wide range of subjects including Japanese and Cultural Understanding.

Football (Soccer)

Keira High School has a reputation around both the local Illawarra area and the state of New South Wales as a school of football (soccer) excellence. To date, eleven Socceroos (members of the Australian national football team) have attended the school.
