Katwa subdivision is a subdivision of the Bardhaman district in the state of West Bengal, India. It consists of Katwa municipality, Dainhat municipality and five community development blocks: KatwaI, KatwaII, KetugramI, KetugramII and Mongolkote. The five blocks contain 46 gram panchayats and one census town. The subdivision has its headquarters at Katwa.

Area

Apart from the Katwa municipality and Dainhat municipality, the subdivision contains one census town and rural areas of 46 gram panchayats under five community development blocks: KatwaI, KatwaII, KetugramI, KetugramII and Mongolkote.[1] The only census town under this block is Panuhat.[2]

Blocks

KatwaI Block

Rural area under KatwaI block consists of nine gram panchayats, viz. Alampur, Karajgram, Sargram, Gidhagram, Khajurdihi, Sreekhanda, Goai, Koshigram and Sudpur.[1] Urban area under this block comprises one census town: Panuhat.[2] Katwa police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Panchghara and Khajurdihi.[4]

KatwaII block

Rural area under KatwaII block consists of seven gram panchayats, viz. Agradwip, Jagadanandspur, Palsona, Sreebati, Gazipur, Karui and Singi.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Katwa police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Dainhat.[4]

KetugramI block

Rural area under KetugramI block consists of eight gram panchayats, viz. Agardanga, Berugram, MurgramGopalpur, Pandugram, Ankhona, JyandasKandara, Palita and Rajur.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Ketugram police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Kandra.[4]

KetugramII block

Rural area under KetugramII block consists of seven gram panchayats, viz. Billeswar, Ketugram, Nabagram, Sitahati, Gangatikuri, Maugram and Nirol.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Ketugram police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Gangatikuri.[4]

Mongolkote block

Rural area under Mongolkote block consists of 15 gram panchayats, viz. Bhalugram, JhiluII, Lakhuria, Paligram, Chanak, KaicharI, Majigram, ShimuliaI, Gotistha, KaicharII, Mongalkot, ShimuliaII, JhiluI, Kshirgram and Nigan.[1] There is no urban area under this block.[2] Mongolkote police station serves this block.[3] Headquarters of this block is in Natunhat.[4]
