KGFM (101.5 FM, "101.5 KGFM") is a radio station licensed to Bakersfield, California. The station is owned by American General Media and licensed to AGM California.[1] The station airs a Hot Adult Contemporary music format.

History

KGFM was originally a beautiful music/easy listening station until the summer of 1992, when they abandoned the format due to low revenue as a result of attracting older listeners. They went adult contemporary and have mostly stayed in the format although in 2005 a decision was made to emphasize gold product.

In 2007, the station evolved toward a soft Adult Hits format. During the weekends, it played songs from the 1960s and 1970s, which targeted the younger end of the baby boomer demographic.

In 2013, KGFM began is transition toward a Hot AC format, dropping all songs from the 1960s and 1970s. KGFM rebranded as "101.5 Today's Best Mix". As of late 2015, KGFM plays no songs recorded before the year 2000.
