KBJD (1650 AM) is a Spanish language Christian teaching formatted radio station owned by Salem Communications. It broadcasts from Denver, Colorado.

Technical data

KBJD is an expanded AM Band station (those above 1600 kHz). When the expanded licenses were issued, the licenses were conditional on the licensee surrendering either the original station license in the normal AM band (KRKS) or the expanded license station at the end of a five-year period.[1] The five-year period for this station ended on February 20, 2006.[2] and the station continues to operate under temporary six-month STA orders while the FCC review is underway.[3]

Programming

In January 2003, Salem Communications reformatted KBJD from Contemporary Christian music "The Rock" to conservative talk radio as "KNUS 2" to "better compliment its other Talk outlet in the market", sister station KNUS.[4]

On October 29, 2007, KBJD changed formats from talk to Spanish language Christian. The station is now branded as "Radio Luz" and serves the Denver area by providing Christian teaching programming in Spanish.
