Isha Mukesh Ambani (born 1991) is an Indian businesswoman.[4][5] She is the daughter of Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Nita Ambani, founder of Reliance Foundation. After graduating in Psychology and South Asian studies from Yale University, in October 2014 she was inducted into the boards of directors of Jio and Reliance Retail.[6][7]

In 2008, Ambani, with a net worth of 471 crore (US$70 million),[8] was ranked 2nd on the Forbes' Youngest Billionaire Heiresses list,[9] and in 2015 was named among 12 powerful upcoming businesswomen in Asia.[10][11]

Career

In 2014, after receiving an undergraduate degree in Psychology and South Asian studies from Yale University, Ambani worked as a business analyst with the management consulting firm, McKinsey & Company.[12] Later that year she was inducted into the boards of Reliance Jio and Reliance Retail.[6][13]

In December 2015, she led the employee launch of Jio's 4G services along with her brother in the presence of the brand's ambassador, Shah Rukh Khan.[14]

In April 2016, Ambani launched AJIO, an online fashion retailer, at the 2016 edition of Lakme Fashion Week. She oversees the branding and management segments of AJIO, which is a subsidiary of Reliance Retail.[4]

Personal life

Ambani is a member of one of India's richest families, Ambani family.[15] She is the only daughter of Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani. Her twin brother, Akash Ambani, is a co-director at Jio and Reliance Retail. She has a younger brother, Anant Ambani, who is pursuing his undergraduate degree from Brown University.[3]

Ambani is a sports enthusiast and used to play for her university’s soccer team. She is also a trained pianist.[9]
