Irakleio B.C., also spelled Iraklio, or Heraklion, is a Greek professional basketball club that is based in the city of Heraklion, on the island of Crete, in Greece. The club's full name is Irakleio OAA B.C. (Greek: Ηράκλειο OAA KAE).

History

The team had its best years so far in the late 1990s, when Irakleio played in the top-tier Greek League, with several appearances in the league's playoffs. In the 1997–98 season, the team beat Aris in both games of their first round playoff series, and finished seventh overall in the league. That is still the club's best season performance so far. The club also played in the FIBA Korać Cup during the 1998–99 season. The club then spent the following years competing in the lower Greek basketball divisions.

Arenas

Irakleio previously used the 1,500 seat Lido Indoor Hall as its home arena. It currently uses the 5,222 seat Heraklion Indoor Sports Arena as its home arena. The 2,400 seat TEI Indoor Sports Hall is also available for the club to use, if needed.
