Gyamda

Gyamda or Ngapo Zampa is a village in Gyamda County of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China on the upper Nyang River at an altitude of 3,200 metres.^[1]

The Neu Dechen Gon Monastery sits above the town. It is associated with the teaching of the late Dudjom Rinpoche^[2] (1904–1987) who died in France. He was the head of the Nyingmapa school in exile.

Nearby are the Tselha Namsum meditation caves associated with the female yogini Machig Labdrön (1005–1149).^[3]
