The Gary Splash are a professional basketball team that plays in the Independent Basketball Association (IBA). The Splash are based in Gary, Indiana and play their home games at the Genesis Convention Center. Originally known as the South Shore Splash, the team were previously members of the International Basketball League (IBL).

History

Played one season (2010-11) in the IBL, finishing in fourth place. Two players (James Booyer and TJ Jackson) were named IBL All-Stars.

Moved to the IBA in 2011 and changed team name from South Shore to Gary. Played in the inaugural 2011-12 IBA Winter season, finishing in third place with a 10-8[1] record. Lost in the IBA Championship Series in two games (best-of 3) to the Kankakee County Soldiers.

In the 2012-13 Winter season the Splash finished 7-9 (sixth place), failing to make the IBA Championship.

In the 2013 IBA Spring season the Splash again made a playoff run to the final before being stopped by the Soldiers 112-106.
