The Fortescue grunter (Leiopotherapon aheneus) is a species of freshwater fish in the Terapontidae family. It is endemic to Australia.[1] It can be found in rivers of coastal northwestern Australia, such as the Ashburton and Fortescue Rivers. It is a resident of Karijini National Park.[2]

This fish has some commercial value as an aquarium pet.[2]
