Biography

Early life and career beginnings

As published in Miss Earth's official website, Corrin described her childhood days as, "I lived on a horse farm in central New York. At the age of 8, I was given my first horse. My family hosted an after-school program for young children called “A Horse of Course,” which taught the basics on how to clean the stalls, feed, water, and exercise the horses, and also gave horseback riding lessons. I helped teach this program from the age of 9 to 13. My childhood was very family oriented. My family traveled on camping trips, ate dinner together every night, and supported each other in all activities. My family fostered children for four years. We loved and cared for 17 children who came into our home. They will forever be a part of our family." She learned that, "My upbringing on the farm taught me the value of hard work, as well as how to love and care for animals. Living on Oneida Lake gave me an appreciation for our bodies of waters and showed me the importance of water conservation and keeping our water clean. I learned that family is always the most important focus in life! You only have one life, so you should spend it with the people who you love most and who support you in achieving your dreams."

Corrin's first pageant experience was when she won the Miss Jr. Oz in 2012. Corrin attended Chittenango High School where Chittenango is the home of L. Frank Baum, the author of the "Wonderful Wizard of Oz."

Stellakis continued her pageant experience as she competed in Miss Teen USA 2014 representing New York. However, she was declared unplaced and title was won by K. Lee Graham of South Carolina.[3][4]

The following year, Corrin competed at Miss World America 2015 and represented Missouri.[5] This time, she finished as one of the Top 12 finalists but lost to Victoria Mendoza of Arizona.[6]

2016: Miss Earth United States and Miss Earth

Corrin competed in the state finals for Miss Earth United States 2016 and won the title of Miss New York Earth United States 2016. Stellakis traveled to Washington, D.C. to compete for the Miss Earth United States 2016 and represented New York. At the end of the event, Corrin was declared as the winner, earning the title of Miss Earth United States 2016. Stellakis also won as the best in public speaking, one of the pre-pageant activities of Miss Earth United States 2016.

By winning the Miss Earth United States 2016 title, Corrin has become the USA's representative to the Miss Earth 2016 pageant hosted by Manila, Philippines. She competed with 82 other delegates from around the world. During the pre-pageant events, Corrin was able to get a bronze medal and a gold medal during the press presentation as part of the "Darling of the Press" award and at the swimsuit competition, respectively.[7][8][9]

As a Miss Earth delegate, the representative should have an environmental advocacy that serves as her focus as part of the pageant's environmental awareness. When Corrin was asked what her advocacy is all about, she answered, "I feel most passionate about water conservation and keeping our bodies of water clean. I chose this platform because water is the source of life. Less than 2% of water on our earth is fresh and renewed by the water cycle. We need clean water to survive, to cultivate, and to innovate. Over one billion people do not have access to safe drinking water. Water is both a global and a local issue, and that is why I advocate for water conservation and keeping our bodies of water clean." At the final coronation show, she achieved a placement in the Top 8.
