Kouider Morabet, better known as Cheb Kader, is a moroccan singer, songwriter/composer and pioneer of raï. He was born in 1966 in Oran, Algeria.

Cheb Kader, was barely nine years old when he moved to France to join his father. His father, a musician himself, encouraged his son to play music. The two were even in a small group with Kader's father on flute and Cheb Kader on percussion. Feeling the passion of his son for music, Cheb Kader's father gave him a guitar and the young Kader began to take music theory classes in order to know the basics of music.

Cheb Kader gets a CAP in auto mechanics in 1982 and went to Paris to pursue his dreams and songs, with his guitar on the shoulder, Cheb Kader makes smalle job right,and save's enough money to produce a first demo and start in the professional music environment. His meeting with Michel Levy in 1985 was a turning point in his life and so in 1986 he released his first album titled reggae-rai which was also the first fusion in the Rai. Cheb Kader finally released his first album in 1988 which was an international success and distributed World Wide.

His career start quickly and Cheb Kader begins a life of tours and performances throughout Europe, North Africa, but also in the United States and Japan.

In 1991, Cheb kader offers 5 new songs to his fans in the album "Generation Rai" but unfortunately, conflicts between him and his record company make Cheb Kader withdraw from the art world.

Cheb Kader announced his return in the landscape of Rai music with "Majiti". He recorded the album "Mani" in 2002 with the Sophia Philharmonic Orchestra (Bulgaria) a rai disk accessible to the general public, with gypsy sounds on the title "Nsiti", R&B alongside the singer Amel, Latin rhythms for duet with Sergent Garcia. Cheb Kader is the true precursor of Rai in France thanks to essential titles like his famous song "Sal dem Drai" or Sid El Houari he released in 1988, he was also a reformer in Rai, which has its beginnings in the movement of the '80s Rai.
