The Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine is the medical school of Florida Atlantic University located in Boca Raton, Florida, United States. The college offers the degrees of Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Medicine/Doctor of Philosophy (M.D./Ph.D.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).[1] The Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine admits 64 students to each first year class. The inaugural class was welcomed in August 2011. In 2015, The Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine earned full accredition from the LCME for its MD degree.[2] Accredition signifies that national standards for function, structure, and performance are met by the medical school's education program.

The Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine opened up a university sponsored internal medicine residency program in 2014 in conjunction with the Boca Raton regional hospital and four other regional hospitals. It also established a partnership with the Scripps Research Institute for a combined (MD/Ph.D) program. In spring of 2016, The Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine was accredited by the ACGME in the emergency medicine and surgery programs. Both of these programs will begin matching students in the 2017 medical class.
