Cemu is a video game console emulator for the Wii U that runs on Windows.[1] Created by two people, Exzap and Petergov, the first version, 1.00, was released on October 13, 2015[2][3] while the current version, 1.6.3, was released on November 27, 2016.[4][5] Typically, Exzap updates the emulator once every two to four weeks, with Patreon supporters are able to get the latest version a week earlier than the public release.[6] Though it is still under development, it can run a handful of Wii U games smoothly.[7][8] It is so far the only eighth generation console emulator in existence since the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have not been reverse-engineered yet.
